A solitaire ring is a type of ring featuring a single gemstone, set prominently at the center of the band. This style is especially popular for engagement rings as it highlights the stone's brilliance and size.
A bezel setting is a method of setting a gemstone in which the stone is completely encircled by the metal, which helps to protect the stone and keep it securely in place.
A half eternity ring is designed with diamonds or gemstones set only across the top half of the band.
A full eternity ring features diamonds or gemstones set all the way around the band. These rings symbolize never-ending love.
- Cut: This refers to how well the diamond has been shaped and faceted from its rough state. The cut affects the diamond's symmetry, brightness, fire, and how it reflects light. A well-cut diamond will have more sparkle and brilliance.
- Color: Diamonds are graded on a color scale, which ranges from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow or brown). Colorless diamonds are the rarest and most valuable.
- Clarity: Clarity measures the presence of internal 'inclusions' or external 'blemishes'. The more inclusions the lower the price of the diamond
- Carat Weight: Carat weight is the measure of a diamond's weight, not its size. One carat is equal to 200 milligrams. Larger diamonds are rarer and thus more valuable, but carat weight alone does not determine a diamond's value. It must be considered in conjunction with the other Cs.
The combination of these four characteristics determines the value of a diamond, with each "C" contributing to the overall beauty and rarity of the stone.
